University students are realizing that internships can be key to future careers.
For students with interests in law, government, politics, international or domestic policy-making, international development, media, the arts, and more, Washington, DC is the place to be. Our nation’s capital is host to hundreds of governmental and non-governmental agencies and organizations; advocacy organizations; think tanks; professional and business lobbying and policy groups; media outlets; research firms; museums and archives, etc., many of which offer internship opportunities for undergraduates.
Once you have been admitted to the CAPPP program, the second phase begins: internship placement. CAPPP staff, here and in our Washington, DC office, will assist you in identifying potential internships that are substantive and relevant to your research interests, and in preparing your internship applications.
Below is a representative sampling of the kinds of internships CAPPP students have secured in various fields. To get a better idea of the possibilities, browse our Internship Database. The database is organized three different ways: alphabetically, by topic, and by organization type.
