CAPPP understands that a quarter in Washington may seem like a financial burden for students, even though expenses are not significantly greater than campus residents'. Once you are accepted into the program, CAPPP will work closely with the UCLA Financial Aid Office to ensure that you receive the most financial aid possible for the quarter you will be away from campus.

In addition to having their financial aid budgets adjusted, students are eligible to receive a scholarship through the UC President's Washington Scholarship (PWS). The primary criterion for awarding the PWS is a student's financial need as determined by the FAFSA. Therefore, students applying for the PWS must have filed a FAFSA for the quarter they they will be in Washington.

Based on information from the UCLA Financial Aid Office and surveys of CAPPP alumni, the following table is a comparison of the costs incurred during a quarter on campus and a quarter in Washington:
