University of Bologna - UCLA Exchange Program

By Alessandro Salomoni (Emilia-Romagna Tourist Agency)
CAPPP is the UCLA partner in a joint research project with the University of Bologna entitled “New Forms of Democracy? Change and Reform of Democratic Institutions.” The general aim of the project is to provide comparative analysis of change and reforms of democratic institutions in advanced Western democracies. This initiative offers faculty at UCLA an opportunity to participate, with colleagues at Bologna and at the other UC partner sites (the Institute of Governmental Studies at UC Berkeley and the Center for the Study of Democracy at UC Irvine), in joint research ventures that fall under the general heading of the project. Participants are eligible for modest travel grants to facilitate cooperation with colleagues at the University of Bologna. The current agreement runs through October 31, 2008.

Professors Giorgio Freddi and Daniela Gianetta of the Dipartimento di Organizzazione e Sistema Politico at the University of Bologna have visited UCLA under the auspices of this exchange.
